Gracie’s Life Experiment

It’s 2008.  Scary how the fast the last 1/3 of 2007 went.  John and I did try and stay up to watch Hootenany, but the last thing I remember was Kylie on and then suddenly my sister rang up and it was 00:29 (d’oh)!!  I wondered why I hadn’t heard Auld Lang Syne yet!  We had a NY day lunch this year (usually we’d have a big NY Eve party with fireworks etc but decided to have something a bit more sedate this year).  Had a few friends over for a sit down lunch.  We made pork chops casserole (something like that) with roasted veggies.  Must have gone down well as there was nothing but a bit of the casserole gravy and the odd kernel or two of sweetcorn left (no leftover surprise dinner for John tonight).  Then we played Wii to work off all that food.  Mostly played Wiilympics (can’t be arsed to say Mario and Sonic…. blah blah) so that’s my new name for it.  Was so funny after each race everyone collapsed on the sofas out of breath – who would have thought u could get so worked up.  I reckon that percussionists (or drummers) would be very good at the running games).

Note to self:  when plonking yourself down on a beanbag don’t sit down with your legs crossed under your derriere - it then makes it impossible to get up off said beanbag and all so-called friends present laugh at you and don’t help meh

Summary of the day: Woke up and cooked, Cooked some more, Had lunch, Played Wii, Collapsed into fit of silliness
